I´ve been walking for the last 6 months (some 6700 km to date, through Central, Eastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, Turkey...) and feel fit enough to loop up to Jerusalem on the INT after going south following roughly Jordan´s ¨King´s highway¨ first (which is the next stretch waiting) :-)
The fact that I´ve been on the road for so long also means that my specific prep for the beautiful Negev portion of the INT is probably considerably less than desireable. For one, I cannot use amazon or other traditional means to acquire the guide and study it in advance...
Here are some questions that I could not find the answers to yet. Hope all is in accordance with forum rules (I did not find them - blind me):
1) Is there a PDF copy of the guide? There is apparently no kindle version. I´m not asking for a free copy. I would pay for it the same amount, if it exists - from the author, maybe? If not (more probable, I guess) is it possible to buy the guide at some address in Eilat?
2) I realize problems of GPS and its functionality. Nevertheless I´ve used OSM and Google satellite footage successfully to navigate thus far. There are GPS Tracks of the INT online and while it might be difficult to get a GPS reading in a narrow Wadi, these are probably the least likely place to get lost. Has anyone done the INT relying heavily on GPS (when the markings were unclear)
3) There are thankfully rather detailed water caching tipps on INT sites. Is there also a place that lists the food resupply points in the desert - other than what is probably in the guide? I saw a very nice ¨Data Sheet¨ project, but the attempt seems to be 6 years old and maybe it was abandoned? Again, due to the fact that I have been walking for so long, and hit the trail running, as it were, I have to possibility to bring dried freeze food packs.
Thanks for any helpful input,
