I plan to hike the INT solo starting at the northern most point the last week of March.  I do not want to camp.  Are there places to stay all along the route?  What is the procedure each day for finding a place to stay after a day's walk?  I know nothing.

You have a list of all sorts of accommodations on this forum. You need to contact the hostel, B&B
or whatever place you chose to stay in, and make a reservation. In the desert it is not possible to avoid camping out completely,
unless your budget allows for a pick up by a jeep by the end of the day to your B&B, hostel, etc. and return the next morning
to the same place to continue the hike.

I recently walked the Camino de Santiago and there were hostels along the trail.  Is it the same on the INT or are the hostels away from the trail?  If so, how do you get from the trail to the lodging?  Is finding lodging a challenge?  I only plan to walk for two weeks, so I'm not concerned about the southern section.  Do I need to carry a sleeping bag and mat?

Most hostels are within a reasonable hiking distance (1-2 km) from the trail, some of them are on the INT.
If the hostel is not close to the trail it is always accessible by bus or taxi ~10-20 minutes drive. Trail angels are mostly close to the trail -  2-3 km max.
I think that in all hostels you do not need a sleeping bag. If you plan on staying with trail angels you'll need it and a mat too.

I should add that not in all places there are hostels close to the trail - especially in its desert parts. So read carefully the list of B&B and hostels, use a map and plan accordingly.

Hi Charlie, I read your questions and I have about the same plan as you: starting in Dan, I'd like not to carry the tent, starting around the last week of march. Did you already look at the list of accomodations? Do you think it's possible and not too complicated without tent?
Thank you!
Miranda
PS:
When are you starting? Maybe we could walk some days together.

Miranda, I arrive at Ben Gurion airport on Sunday morning march 23rd and will catch a train or bus to Dan.  Then I plan to get to Nimrod Fortress on Sunday afternoon March 23 and start walking.  I do not have a feel for the availability of accommodations, I just know that I do not want to camp out.  I am hoping there are b&b's, hostels, inns, trail angels or the like where one can stay.  I am not bringing a sleeping bag or tent.  I'll walk for about 12 days and see how far I can get on the INT.  When so you plan to start?

Hi Charlie, sorry for the late answer, I was out for the w-e.
I'm still organizing because I'm not coming back and go for a big trip after Israel. I could take a flight saturday to Tel Aviv so we could meet  and walk together for some days. I usually walk alone (I did also the Santiago trail from Lisbona) but this could be also a new experience if it would be ok for you, too. Maybe we can email out of the forum for details : miranda.sorgente@excetra.it . Or talk in skype? you can find me at: miranda.sorgente (Italy)
Ciao!
Miranda
