Summer hiking

DO NOT HIKE IN THE SUMMER (June-September) IN THE DESERT, IT IS TOO HOT POSSIBLY A LIFE THREATHENING ADVENTURE.
IT IS NOT ONLY DRY BUT YOU RISK GETTING A HYPERHTERMIA. AVOID THE DESERT IN SUMMER.
PEOPLE HAVE ASKED IN THE PAST: CAN I REST IN THE SHADE DURING THE HOT HOURS OF THE DAY?
YES YOU CAN BUT ONLY IN THE NORTH. THERE IS NO SHADE IN THE DESERT.

THE BOTTOM LINE REMAINS THE SAME: DO NOT HIKE IN THE SUMMER IN THE DESERT

As for the rest of the country (Nimrod to Arad) it is hot / humid but doable. You'll have to rest in the shade during the hot hours
of the day: 09:00-16:30. Hiking in summer means carrying more water 5-6 liters / day in the north too.

summer hiking

Hi...
I am interested in hiking the trail from Arad to Dan in June. I would not be in the desert. I am an experienced hiker and I live in Florida so I am used to heat and humidity. What do you think? Is that doable? Thanks
yankale

Yes it's doable. See the first post of the thread.

The season to hike

Szalom.

We are going to hike from Mizpe Ramon to Timna Park in September. We are going to start 5 of September from Mizpe Ramon. What do you think, is this good season? We are resistant to high temperatures, but want to be sure if it is good idea.
yankale

Dobry wieczór,

September is still TOO HOT in the desert.

If you plan to hike  just the section from Mizpe Ramon to Timna a reasonable idea will be to plan a hike of ~10 days or so,
in December during Christmas and new year vacation.
