Desert HikingThe desert is extremely dry, the danger of dehydration is high even in relatively "lower" temperatures (31-32 C).
The best time of the year to hike the desert is late November to late March. Even in winter you can
expect few days of hot weather. When it is too hot, rest in the shade.
October is still hot in the desert but if you start your hike in the north (Dan) you get to the Negev in November which is OK.
From April to mid May people hike in the desert too but the weather is getting hot. Expect frequent very hot days.
In Summer do not hike the desert.
Hiking the desert when it's very hot, beyond 35 C, is a risk of deydration. Drink a lot and rest in the shade.
A greater risk is hyperthermia. In such event immediately stop hiking, rest in the shade and cool down your body.
