A friend and I would like to hike the INT roughly from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv in early April this year. Although I own the book (second edition), I'm struggling a bit with finding out precisly how far that actually is and how many days you supposedly need on the trail. Could anybody help?
Further, I know that the INT does not exactly go to Jerusalem itself, so I would be thankful for suggestions on what a good starting point would be or how to link it with other regional trails.
Thank you very much already, great work you're doing!
There are two places to join the INT: Ein Hindak which is by Even Sapir (km 21.3 of day 26s - 103km to Tel Aviv)
or at the Sataf (km 24.6 of day 26s - 100 km to Tel Aviv)
1. Take a bus to Hadassa Medical center in Ein Carem. Go down along the road to Even Sapir and join the
INT 300 meters from the entrance to Even Sapir (green trail)
2. Take a bus to Mevasseret Zion. Leave the bus at the first stop in Mevasseret Zion and go south on route 3965.
After aprox. 2.5-3 km get to a roundabout by the Sataf and make a right turn at the brown sign
(do not make a right turn to Tzova).
After approx. 300 m the INT (red trail) crosses the road. Make a right turn and you are on the INT.
For both places use map 27.
I'd use option 2 since the way from Ein hindak might be still difficult due to collapsed trees because of the
snow storm in early December.
