I plan to hike solo from Dan to Jerusalem. As the guide suggests, I would like to take a full day off the trail once a week. I would spend that day sightseeing. This would mean two nights at an angel's house if there is no hostel nearby. Do angels generally dislike hikers staying more than one night?

I don't know, since it is quite uncommon to stay for two nights. You'll have to ask. From my long freindship with
many of the trail angels chances are you won't be refused.

In Ramot Naftali (north) one can stay for several nights. They have an environmental construction project that one
can volunteer an stay for as long as you participate in the project.

There were a few times that I wanted to stay more than one night due to weather / needing a break / wanting to do some sightseeing. The angels were always happy to have me stay another day! However, ask politely and make it clear that they are allowed to decline!
