Hello everyone.

Apr 17 my friend arrives to Israel, and on Apr 19 we plan to get to Negev desert or Eilat mountains for a intense 2 - 2.5 days route in south and after 1 day rest for a 2 days route in the northern part.

Here are our questions, I would be very grateful for the answers.

1. He is interested in small canyons, caves and picturesque mountains/geology, so what would you advise in the southern part (Negev or Eilat mountains). Are canyons widespread during all the southern part from Arad or are they focused in more or less one place? I've heard about Win Avdat, for example, but we just need a good advice from people that really know.

2. Dangerous snakes & insects. Are they active on the INR in the end of April? Should we perhaps bring any medicine? From this point of view, how safe is moving in the evening when there is no light - are there any dangerous nightlife snakes or insects?

3. What picturesque parts for a 2 days route would you advise in the northern part? Preferably with views of hills/mountains, old left buildings.

Thanks so much.
Andy.

P.S. Sorry if the questions seem dummy, I just wanted to accumulate the necessary information. By the way, friend told me that there is no Saar's guide in Tel Aviv in Azrieli book shops, and it is too late to order on Amazon.

Please follow all forum rules. See rule #10 for explanation.  I hope you understand. Thank you.

There are many book stores in Tel Aviv so you can easily find the guide there.  One can also buy the guide at the airport.
On the right side after customs there is a Stiematzky book store.
